Hoteles más Verdes and the SDGs
The SDGs were adopted by the United Nations in 2015, as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. They are a call to action to walk the path towards the elimination of violent conflicts, human right abuses and environmental degradation throughout 17 goals that aim at integrating the economic growth, social welfare, and environmental protection.
Our Sustainable Hotel Management Standard “Hoteles más Verdes”, being recognized by the GSTC, is aligned with their criteria, which show a high correlation with the 17 SDGs. Each of the 17 SDGs have targets and indicators to measure its progress. We have identified those indicators that show a high correlation with the “Hoteles más Verdes” criteria.
By comparing at this level of detail, we pretend to identify those SDGs that only have some indicator related to some criteria. This does not mean the unidentified criteria are not related to some SDG, but that only those that demonstrate a close relationship with the specific indicator appear in this section.
